Applications Reopen for Youth Awards 2024
The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information, and the Arts is pleased to announce the reopening of nominations for this year’s Youth Awards, celebrating the exceptional contributions of young individuals across the nation.
These prestigious awards are designed to recognize and commend the invaluable impact young people have on the nation’s development. By highlighting their achievements, we aim to inspire and motivate them to continue their journey as responsible, productive, and engaged members of society.
Originally scheduled from June 9 to July 4, the nomination period has been extended following a postponement of the awards ceremony, which was initially set for August 12. This year, the Youth Awards will honor outstanding contributions in 17 diverse categories, including Business and Economy, Arts and Cultural Revival, Charity Work, Mental Health Advocacy, Environmental Efforts, Language Revitalization, Sports, Fisheries and Agriculture, Anti-Drug Initiatives, and Vocational Training. Additionally, special recognitions will be given for the International Achievement in Sports and the Shaheed Jawad Umar Memorial Shield.
Eligible candidates, aged 18-35, are invited to submit their nominations by 14:00 hours on September 19. You may fill the onlineform or submit the physical form on official working days from 08:30 to 14:00 hours. For applicants from the islands, submissions can be sent via email to info@youth.gov.mv.
Since its inception in 2016, the Youth Awards have been a cornerstone in celebrating the spirit and achievements of our youth. We encourage everyone to participate and highlight the exceptional work being done by young Maldivians.
