Applications Open for ‘Shades of Mind’ Art Exhibition

The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts is excited to announce that applications are now open for the upcoming ‘Shades of Mind’ art exhibition, dedicated to raising awareness and promoting open dialogue about mental health. This unique event will take place from November 12 to 17, 2024, and is free for all attendees.

Open to young artists aged 16-35, Shades of Mind aims to inspire creativity while fostering an inclusive environment for both emerging and established artists. We encourage participants to express their thoughts and experiences through art, helping to destigmatize mental health issues and engage the public in meaningful conversations.

Artists are invited to explore a variety of themes, including but not limited to:

  • Unveiling Emotions

  • Breaking the Silence / Encouraging Dialogue

  • Embracing Recovery / Journey Towards Wellness

  • Inner Canvas

In addition to the art displayed, the exhibition will feature an anonymous engagement section where all participants and visitors can share their support and experiences. This section will also provide vital resources for mental health support and information on how to get involved or seek assistance.

Our goal is to:

  • Encourage conversations about mental health as a crucial aspect of well-being.

  • Remind individuals that seeking help is a sign of strength.

  • Create a judgment-free environment that fosters sharing and understanding.

  • Raise public awareness about the challenges and healing journeys associated with mental health.

  • Highlight the various stigmas individuals may face and promote compassion and empathy.

We invite artists to apply by October 25, 2024, to ensure their work is part of this important conversation. For more information and to submit an application, please visit: ApplicationLink. Read the guidelines here.
